The speculation that the radical opposition, foreign-funded media, and NGOs attached to yesterday’s statement by the U.S. Embassy is the clearest illustration of how foreign funding has created an uncontrollable monster of hybrid warfare — this is what the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, wrote on social media.­

According to him, the decision by the new U.S. administration to completely shut down the channels funded by the American people that promote propaganda, destabilize other societies, and incite internal conflict was the right one.

“The speculation, hysteria, and conspiracy theories promoted by the radical opposition, foreign-funded propaganda media, and NGOs in response to yesterday’s statement by the U.S. Embassy is the clearest illustration of how foreign funding has created an uncontrollable monster of hybrid warfare — and how justified the decision of the new U.S. administration was to completely close down the channels financed by the American people that spread propaganda, destabilize other societies, and fund internal confrontations,” Papuashvili wrote.
