The injustice we see towards our country and the Georgian people is the fault of the “deep state”, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in response to a journalist’s question about the non-invitation of Georgia to the informal meeting of foreign ministers in Warsaw.
According to him, the non-invitation of Georgia to this meeting is an injustice perpetrated by European officials.
“You know what the overall picture has been after 2022, when we refused to open a second front. First, completely unfairly, without any justification, they refused to grant us candidate status. The Georgian people were refused, there was no justification. They did not grant us status for 1.5 years, then they refused to open negotiations, etc. This injustice continues. This is an injustice that is being carried out by European officials, which is very sad.
We did everything we could to receive candidate status in due time. We are doing everything that is necessary on our part. If European officials have a different task, in this case the approach will change. But, so far, they have received a task from the “deep state” to try to confront the national interests of our country as much as possible, which is sad.
[Non-invitation] This is injustice. How is this our responsibility when they commit injustice?! How can it be our fault that we did not receive candidate status in 2022?! Can’t you see that there is total injustice? The injustice that we see towards our country and the Georgian people is the fault of the “deep state”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
For information, an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers was held in Warsaw, to which the foreign ministers of candidate countries were invited. According to reports, Georgia was not invited to the meeting.
