Teona Akubardia: The Independence Day celebration will go on without Kobakhidze — On this day, too, we will continue to defend the country’s independence, because if anyone threatens Georgia’s sovereignty - It is Kobakhidze’s so-called group

“If anyone threatens Georgia’s sovereignty, independence, and constitutional choice, it is precisely Irakli Kobakhidze’s so-called group,” said Teona Akubardia, a member of the “For Georgia” party, in an interview with PalitraNews.

She explained that the May 26 Independence Day parade will take place without Irakli Kobakhidze.

Irakli Kobakhidze has nothing to do with Georgia’s independence or sovereignty. This is evidenced by the fact that, despite his official duties, he has never visited the occupation line. Just like he avoided the May 26 parade years ago for personal reasons — we all remember this very well.

Therefore, of course, the celebration of the restoration of independence will go on without Kobakhidze, because it is a shared, public celebration. And on this day, as on others, we will continue defending the country’s independence. Because if anyone is threatening Georgia’s sovereignty, independence, and constitutional choice, it is precisely Irakli Kobakhidze’s so-called group, which is undermining the country’s independence, democracy, and European future,” said Akubardia.
