False ideologies that have been imposed for years, especially on European society, are now collapsing. In this regard, we are also seeing an awakening within Europe – we are witnessing very superficial and, in some cases, reckless politics and approaches from certain European leaders, – stated the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili.
According to him, many in Europe are still not ready to respond seriously to geopolitical shifts and challenges.
"One thing the whole world is observing – especially under the new U.S. administration – is the collapse of false ideologies that have been imposed for years, particularly on European society. In this respect, we’re witnessing an awakening within Europe, just as American society has already awakened. People are realizing that completely false ideologies, a distorted understanding of liberalism, and Orwellian approaches – where real values were replaced with fake ones – that era has come to an end. It’s important that every government within the EU faces this reality directly.
As for the future geopolitical architecture, we are also seeing shifts happening worldwide. When Russia launched its aggressive war against Ukraine, it was immediately declared a tectonic, geopolitical shift. Where these shifts are leading us is hard to predict, but it is clear that many in Europe are still not ready to treat these developments seriously – in the sense of offering competent responses to the challenges that have arisen. We are witnessing very superficial and sometimes reckless politics and approaches from some European leaders. In this context, Prime Minister Orbán’s call – including today before this forum – is noteworthy: that all governments should approach these geopolitical challenges with full responsibility and understanding, and, most importantly, from the standpoint of their own people’s interests,” – stated Shalva Papuashvili.
For context: In Budapest, Hungary, a conference of parliamentary speakers from EU member and partner countries is taking place. The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, is participating and addressed the attendees. The event is focused on regional cooperation, strengthening democracy, and common security challenges.
