Naturally, questions arise as to why the new US administration is not paying due attention to the country that was clearly unjustly oppressed by the Biden administration - it would be very good and beneficial for diplomatic relations if a proper response was given to all this, - the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, Davit Matikashvili, said in response to the open letter of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, sent to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance.

According to him, the Georgian side expects real steps from the United States in the context of partnership relations. Matikashvili says that these steps are delayed, and this is precisely what raises questions.

"Naturally, questions arise as to why the new United States administration is not paying due attention to the country that was clearly unjustly oppressed by the Biden administration. Resources were used against our country that are clearly not suitable for any kind of partnership, and today, in the midst of all this, the lower house of the United States legislature is adopting a document that it cynically called the MEGOBARI Act. We can directly say that the document contains hostile content against Georgia, the Georgian people, and its elected government. This act is completely devoid of real facts. The circumstances emphasized are incorrect and false. In the context of all this, we, our country, obviously expect a clear position and clear steps from the United States, its new government, towards Georgia, a country that has made a huge contribution to military missions conducted under the auspices of the United States and NATO for decades. Georgian military personnel sacrificed their lives and health for these missions, and our country, along with NATO member states, was one of the largest contributors in terms of the number of military personnel. Obviously, we expect real steps from the United States in the context of this partnership, and the fact that these steps are delayed, of course, raises questions. The letter is clearly formulated and, of course, it will be very good and useful for diplomatic relations if all this is answered appropriately," Matikashvili said.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
