The attack on female activists in the most brutal forms is an expression of how barbaric this regime has become, - the fifth President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili stated at the briefing today, responding to the physical violence against journalist Mariam Makasarashvili and the cameraman of TV Pirveli.
According to her, Georgian Dream has lost civilized forms, which will come back to haunt them and the country may become ungovernable.
"This is a sign that they have lost civilized forms. This is unacceptable for our society, for our traditions. They go to church, hold huge candles, and at this time such barbarity is being committed against completely innocent women. This may come back to haunt them and the country may become ungovernable. We all must protect the future of our children," - she said.
Salome Zurabishvili also responded to the information that former Prosecutor General of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze attended the military parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9. According to Zurabishvili, she is “surprised by the reactions of Georgian Dream when there is direct evidence of his treasonous activities.”
“The mild reactions that followed the fact that the former Prosecutor General of the country was standing on Red Square are surprising. It turns out that his last name has changed and today he is Romanov, while yesterday he was Partskhaladze. The leaders of Georgian Dream said that they could not say anything about sanctions and, on the contrary, they had to protect Partskhaladze from sanctions, because there was no evidence. Today, when there is evidence of his treasonous activities, they are avoiding responsibility.
Partskhaladze's presence in Russia means that a lot of information about Georgia was transferred to Russia, and everyone should be thinking about this today, especially the agencies responsible for thecountry's security," Zurabishvili said.
