Nino Tsilosani, Vice Speaker of the Parliament, explains what will be included in the special declaration of the Georgian Parliament, which is planned to be adopted in response to the MEGOBARI Act supported by the US House of Representatives.
As Tsilosani states, the Parliament’s statement will contain facts contrary to what is discussed in the MEGOBAR Act, namely, “the facts of how high the level of democracy, freedom of speech, the rule of law, the judicial reform, etc. is in Georgia.”
According to her, the Parliament’s statement will address all the unfair criticisms made under the MEGOBARI Act.
"In response to the unfair steps taken against Georgia, the Parliament of Georgia will make a statement addressing the ironically named so-called MEGOBAR Act, which is hostile in every way towards the Georgian people and the Georgian government. This statement, which we have already discussed at the Bureau in the Parliament and will later vote on, is about all the unfair criticisms made under the so-called MEGOBAR Act, which are not supported by facts or specific processes. On the contrary, in our statement, we present the opposite facts. Facts about the high level of democracy, freedom of speech, rule of law, excellent conduct of judicial reform, etc. This government is the choice of the Georgian people and that all radical forces that serve a coup in this country have been defeated and will be given exactly the same response in the future,” Tsilosani said.
For information, the Georgian Parliament will adopt a special statement in response to the MEGOBARI Act supported by the US House of Representatives. The draft statement has already been introduced in the Parliament. The initiators are the Chairman of the Parliament, the leaders of the Georgian Dream faction, as well as the political groups in the Parliament. The draft statement has been submitted to the Foreign Relations Committee for consideration. Its discussion will take place at the session tomorrow.
