"The 10th convocation of the Parliament has become a turning point in modern Georgian history, as it represents a firm and courageous body dedicated to strengthening sovereignty and defending national interests," – said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili as he began his annual report.

According to Papuashvili, the four years of the 10th Parliament were marked by challenges, foreign influences and interference in internal affairs, attempts by destructive groups to undermine the foundations of the state, the opening of political fronts by interest groups, betrayal, sabotage, and traps set by both enemies and supposed allies.

"As I stand here today, I can say that this Parliament had to endure a great deal – and it is precisely in such difficult times that the loyalty, wisdom, and trust of the Georgian people are revealed,” Papuashvili stated.

He went on to say that, “If there was a red thread running through the work of the previous Parliament, it was the constant attempts to reverse the wheel of national progress, sow chaos, and instigate revolutions. These efforts were aimed at damaging our society, yet they ultimately resulted in a more resilient, confident, and mature public.

To truly understand how we achieved this, we must recall everything we went through together with our people,” he concluded.
