Paata Burchuladze: There are many options for us to hold the elections ourselves, the motto will be: “We will not let you hold a fake election!” - Someone may laugh at holding elections by phone, but this was a good practice in Estonia

Someone may laugh at the idea of holding elections by phone, this was a good practice in Estonia and we are going to copy it. The phone will not leak, like the papers of Georgian Dream, - Paata Burchuladze stated after the joint meeting with representatives of the opposition and the civil sector.

According to Burchuladze, several options for how to hold the elections emerged during the meeting. According to him, the elections will most likely be held in September.

Paata Burchuladze also announced a new association, which will be called Rustaveli Avenue.

“Today was our third meeting. Plans are being outlined. We want the injustice in Georgia to end, we want real elections to be held, not the kind of elections that have been held so far. We have many options for holding elections ourselves. I think there is no alternative to this, we cannot continue like this. Our comrades are already slowly being threatened with prison. In addition, a false commission is adopting a false resolution. This is unthinkable, this cannot be allowed. We are creating one big alternative, which is called the “People of Georgia” against the so-called Parliament. Let’s see who will win – the so-called Parliament or the people of Georgia. Discussions are underway regarding the elections – how we should hold them. There will definitely be such a motto – “We will not let you hold false elections!” This country is ours, we must hold everything that this country needs”, – said Burchuladze.

In addition, Burchuladze explained the methods by which the opposition intends to schedule and hold elections.

“We have a very good legal picture. We have an elected president in the form of Salome Zurabishvili, we have the government - the Supreme Council, which is the government of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, which has not yet been abolished. The Supreme Council also stands by us. As for the Georgian Dream, it has no one, neither a president, nor a body that can schedule elections.

Someone may laugh at holding elections by phone, this was a good practice in Estonia and we are going to copy it. The phone will not leak, like the Georgian Dream papers. According to our assumption, the elections should be held in September.

If we do not hold them, there will be no elections in Georgia. In recent years, elections have not been held in Georgia, so we want all this to end. If Georgian Dream wins in our elections, we will not only enter the parliament, we will do everything, but I doubt it,” he said.
