Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze participated in a roundtable discussion titled "Strengthening Europe's Security and Democratic Resilience" within the framework of the European Political Community Summit.

According to the Government Administration, in his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a strong Europe for a strong world and described recent trends as alarming.

"Irakli Kobakhidze noted that a large part of European states faces the threat of losing their identity, and at the same time, Europe is losing its ability to be a strong player and to protect its partners.

In this context, the Prime Minister spoke about the severe consequences of the war using Ukraine as an example and noted that in such a situation, other countries cannot expect guarantees of protection.

The Head of Government highlighted Georgia's achievements and stressed the need to change the unfair attitude towards the country. According to Irakli Kobakhidze, in many criteria, Georgia surpasses some countries that have already been granted EU candidate status, and such unfair treatment damages the image of European institutions.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that significant changes will take place in Europe and that Europe will grow stronger, which is essential for ensuring a rules-based international order.

The roundtable panel discussion was co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sweden, and attended by the Prime Ministers of Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Armenia, and Estonia, as well as the Presidents of Greece, Ukraine, the European Council, and the European Parliament, and the Secretary General of the OSCE," the statement said.
