The Chairperson of the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, and the Secretary General of the party, Petre Tsiskarishvili, met with the initiator of the MEGOBARI Act, Congressman Joe Wilson, and the Chairman of the Helsinki Commission, Senator Vicker.
The United National Movement has released information regarding the above.
According to them, Tina Bokuchava and the Secretary General of the party, Petre Tsiskarishvili, have completed an official visit to the US. This was the first official meeting of the Georgian political delegation with the State Department within the framework of Donald Trump’s second presidency.
The official visit of the National Movement delegation to the US lasted for a week.
As the party leaders state, the meetings were very fruitful and served the restoration of US-Georgia relations and the interests of the Georgian people.
"After we met with representatives of the Department of State, we had meetings in think tanks - we met with a number of congressmen, senators, including Senator Wicker, who is the chairman of the Helsinki Commission, as well as Congressman Joe Wilson, who is the initiator of the MEGOBARI Act. Today we are completing a very successful, fruitful visit to the USA, which serves to protect Georgia's national interests, including the adoption of the MEGOBARI Act, which offers many benefits to the Georgian people and at this stage also envisages personal sanctions against Ivanishvili, his entourage, which hinder Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration and the US-Georgia friendship, the very important strategic partnership that we have been building since the restoration of Georgia's independence and which we will definitely restore," said Tina Bokuchava.
