In his congratulatory statement, Ilham Aliyev highlights the cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

“On behalf of myself and the Azerbaijani people, I sincerely congratulate you and the people of your country on Georgia’s Independence Day.

The foundation of Azerbaijan-Georgia interstate relations is built on the firm will of our peoples, who have historically lived in an atmosphere of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual support. We are pleased that our relations, based on these traditions, are successfully developing in all directions and deepening every year.

The intensity of our political dialogue plays an important role in enriching all areas of our cooperation with new meaning. Your recent visit to our country, along with our contacts on international platforms, is clear evidence of the dynamic nature of our bilateral relations.

Large-scale infrastructure projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia, including the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, create new opportunities for our countries and peoples, contributing significantly to our common prosperity, regional stability, and cooperation. Our joint projects in the energy sector also create a new landscape on Europe’s energy map and play a vital role in ensuring the continent’s energy security.

I am confident that with our joint efforts, the friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia will continue to advance on an upward trajectory, promoting the welfare of our peoples and the peace and security of our region.

On this wonderful day, I send my best wishes and sincerely wish long-lasting peace and prosperity to the friendly Georgian people,” Ilham Aliyev states in his congratulatory letter.

The Government of Georgia has released the congratulatory letter from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
