No one intends to participate in the local elections if they are held under the rules and manipulation of “Georgian Dream,” – this is what Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, said in her speech on Rustaveli Avenue.
According to Salome Zurabishvili, parliamentary elections should be held first, then local elections, or possibly both at the same time, and for this, preparation is necessary.
“‘Georgian Dream’ brought up the topic of local elections, just as they did before with entering Parliament – no one entered then, and no one intends to participate in the local elections if they are held under the rules and manipulation of ‘Georgian Dream.’ On the other hand, everyone probably intends to participate in elections – these elections should first be parliamentary and then local, or, at the very least, combined parliamentary and local elections. Preparation is essential for this, so don’t start with doubts and gossip – preparation is necessary, as are new rules that we have created within the framework of the ‘Resistance Platform,’ which will be our conditions for the elections. It is crucial to prepare a whole army of observers. This should already be underway. It is necessary for the diaspora to wake up and begin registering so that this isn’t done at the last minute, unprepared and late. This preparation is our shared task, so that together, the opposition can protect everyone’s voice – that is the formula for victory, and I am convinced of it, and we will carry it through to the end,” said Salome Zurabishvili.
