I believe in the brave Georgian people. May God bless Georgia, - this was stated by MEP Rasa Juknevičienė during her speech on Rustaveli Avenue at the event dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day.
According to her, Georgians are heroes, and the struggle of the Georgian people is a fight for Europe, a fight against the colonial Russian empire.
The MEP said that dictators fear their own people, and in Georgia, “one person fears debidzination,” but this is inevitable, as the regime and Georgia’s European future are incompatible.
“Dear Georgians, I stand before you with great respect and thank you for the opportunity to be with you on this special day. You are amazing. You are my heroes. You are heroes to many people in Europe. On the occasion of Independence Day, I extend the congratulations of many of my colleagues from the European Parliament. You are in the hearts and minds of many Lithuanians. Like Lithuanians, Georgians understand the price of freedom, as do Moldovans, Ukrainians, and Belarusians. Your fight is our common fight. A fight for Europe. A fight against the colonial Russian empire. Dictators fear their own people. Putin fears the Russians the most. He is poisoning them. Lukashenko fears his own people – he has thousands of opponents locked up in prisons. Likewise, in Georgia, there is one person who is very afraid. He fears “debidzination.” But this is inevitable because this regime and Georgia’s European future are incompatible. I call on Bidzina’s collaborators – don’t be afraid of new and fair elections. Let the Georgian people have the right to say what they want. We are by your side, Georgians. You inspire us. I express my solidarity with the detained fighters. I express my solidarity with Mzia Amaghlobeli, with Zurab Japaridze, with President Mikheil Saakashvili, and many others. Georgia is Europe. I want to express gratitude here with you to Ukraine, which is defending all of Europe with its blood. Glory to Ukraine. I believe in a united democratic Europe. I believe in the brave Georgian people. May God bless Georgia,” said the MEP.
