We see that Georgian emigrants do not lose their emotional connection with Georgia. The feeling of the homeland, sharing its joy and success is the best sign that our country has dedicated ambassadors in many countries of the world, - the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the forum dedicated to Diaspora Day.

As Kobakhidze noted, the Georgian diaspora is a very important link on the country's path to European integration, for deepening bilateral relations between Georgia and foreign countries, for presenting the country's culture and intellectual potential.

“I would like to thank our compatriots living abroad, Georgian communities, Orthodox parishes and Georgian folklore ensembles for their dedication to their efforts that serve to preserve national and cultural identity and Georgian traditions. The role of the Orthodox Church in deepening and maintaining the connection of our diaspora with the homeland is worthy of special mention. I would like to thank the representatives of the Church, dioceses, dioceses operating abroad, and each clergyman who serve this precious cause.

I would like to thank those successful Georgian professionals who have succeeded and achieved professional heights, thereby rendering an important service to both the countries where they are located and their homeland.

In addition, according to Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgia, which is already a small nation, has no right to not pay special attention to the diaspora.

“We have no right to not pay special attention to our diaspora, as we are already a small nation. The state's efforts will continue to be directed towards implementing programs that are dedicated to preserving the national and cultural identity of the diaspora representatives and to education issues. Also, special attention will be paid to youth, maintaining close ties between young people and their homeland, and to students who have gone abroad to study, who should create a successful future for our country, - said Kobakhidze.
