The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not confirm reports regarding the resignation of Vaja Siradze, head of the Patrol Police, and Zviad Kharazishvili (“Khareba”), head of the Special Tasks Department.

As the ministry told InterPressNews, both individuals continue to work at the ministry.

“The information is incorrect. They continue to work at the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the ministry stated.

For reference, information about Vaja Siradze and the so-called “Khareba” resigning from their positions was circulated in the media.

As a reminder, today, Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri announced his resignation. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze nominated Gela Geladze for the position of the new Interior Minister.
