The spirit of Georgia has withstood many wars and centuries of occupation, and we have remained unbroken, we have remained Georgians, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
According to the Prime Minister, Georgians are proud of Christianity and do everything to protect it, because when a nation loses its national identity and faith, it loses itself.
“It is a great honor to stand before you today in Hungary, a country that has steadfastly defended its sovereignty and identity. Everyone should praise the distinguished Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orbán, for the courage and uncompromising struggle he has waged to protect Hungary’s freedom and national interests.
We, Georgians, especially appreciate him for the invaluable support he has shown for the European path of Georgia and our nation. Thank you very much for that, Mr. Viktor!
I bring to you the voice of Georgia – the voice of a country that has stood at the crossroads of empires for more than 3,000 years; a country that became one of the first Christian nations in the world; the spirit of Georgia has withstood many wars and centuries of occupation, and yet, we have remained unbroken, we have remained Georgians!
We are proud of our Christianity and do everything to protect it; because we know that when a nation loses "its national identity and faith — it is losing itself," the Prime Minister said.
