There is no need to abduct Mr. Melia, really. I don’t know what he has to complain about - anyone who violates the law will be held accountable before the law. He did not respect the Parliament of Georgia, did not come to the investigative commission and the law was enforced against him, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated when he spoke about the arrest of one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Nika Melia.
As Kobakhidze noted, everyone should remember that disrespect for the law will be punished accordingly.
"There is no need to abduct Mr. Melia, really. I don't know what he has complaints about, but this is not the term he can use. He was detained administratively, no one needed it, especially since he later had to be ordered to pre-trial detention. Anyone who violates the law will be held accountable before the law. He did not respect the Parliament of Georgia, did not come to the investigative commission, and the law was enforced against him. Everyone should remember that disrespect for the law will, of course, be punished accordingly. This is the principle of a legal state. We live in a state where the principle of the rule of law should and does operate, everyone should accept this. The state will be firm in protecting the interests related to the realization of a legal state in Georgia," Kobakhidze said.
