It is regrettable that the European bureaucracy has completely crossed out such principles as justice and the rule of law, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in response to a journalist's question regarding Brussels' response to the arrest of Nika Melia.

According to the head of government, several years ago, when the law was to be enforced in Georgia, it was directly opposed by both European and American bureaucracy.

"Do you remember the statements made at that time? Later, the European Court of Human Rights, the Strasbourg Court, confirmed that the state's actions were legal and fair from the beginning to the end, but no one has apologized to this day. Therefore, we are not surprised by those statements, similar statements that are being made today. This speaks of a very serious crisis that exists in the European bureaucracy today. This is a political, democratic and legal crisis. I very much hope that the influence of the “deep state” on the European bureaucracy will weaken, without which overcoming this crisis is simply unthinkable. I hope that the European bureaucracy will finally manage to overcome the crisis. This is important for the development of the European Union as a rules-based system," the Prime Minister said.
