According to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be nominated for the St. George’s Victory Order for winning the Champions League. Additionally, as the Prime Minister noted during a government session, due to the highest-level awards received in top club tournaments, Kakha Kaladze and Zaza Pachulia will also be nominated for the St. George’s Victory Order.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was awarded the Order of Honor last year for his success with the national team. Now, for winning the Champions League, we want to nominate him for the St. George’s Victory Order. I believe this is a well-deserved award that he will receive from the state. The President will award him with the highest state honor — the St. George’s Victory Order.
We also looked into the following matter: we have two athletes who have received the highest awards in top club tournaments. One is Kakha Kaladze, who has won the Champions League twice, and the other is Zaza Pachulia, who has won the highest-level basketball club tournament three times. They have not received similar honors. I think, although belatedly, we must acknowledge their achievements. We have decided to nominate Kakha Kaladze and Zaza Pachulia for the St. George’s Victory Order,” the Prime Minister stated.
