UN General Assembly adopts resolution on status of IDPs and refugees from occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia, and the Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia, the Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili reports.

According to her, the resolution had an "unprecedented number of supporters" - 107 countries supported Georgia's resolution at the 2025 session.

"I express my deep gratitude to all the states that co-authored our initiative and supported the resolution.

A special thank you to the Georgian Ambassador to the UN, Davit Bakradze, my deputy, Lasha Darsalia, and all the diplomats who worked tirelessly to gain this great support!", Bochorishvili wrote.
