Giorgi Gabitashvili, who until now held Prosecutor General’s post, nominated for Auditor General’s position

The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, has nominated Giorgi Gabitashvili, who until now held the post of Prosecutor General, for the position of Auditor General.

According to him, the election of Gabitashvili as Auditor General will significantly strengthen the State Auditor's Office.

"I have made a decision to nominate Giorgi Gabitashvili for the position of Auditor General. I believe that his election as Auditor General will significantly strengthen the State Auditor's Office and ensure the achievement of the goals that we presented to our population before the elections and for which we received the mandate of the Georgian people," Papuashvili said.

For information, Tsotne Kavlashvili has resigned from the position of Auditor General and has been appointed Deputy Minister of Finance.
