“What Tina Bokuchava is saying is a talentless performance, but at the same time, it carries the level of malice characteristic of the United National Movement. Of course, Kotiko should be summoned and questioned,” – said the First Vice Speaker of Parliament, Gia Volski, in a comment to journalists.
According to him, the purpose of telling such a malicious tale is to insult the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As Volski noted, Bokuchava’s statement should be investigated.
“I believe her husband, Kote, should be summoned. We remember him from when he said that Jesus Christ had thirty pieces of silver planted in his pocket and was crucified because of those planted coins. We also remember his brazen remarks. But what Tina Bokuchava is saying now – obviously, this should be called a tale, a malicious tale. The goal is to insult the State Security Service, to paint it as if it threatened to kill kindergarten children unless Kotiko admitted he had said something foolish eight years ago. It’s clearly an attack on the leadership, as well as on the new Minister of Internal Affairs. I still think it’s a talentless performance, but with the level of malice the United National Movement was known for – back when Bokuchava was one of its leaders and still remains so today, just without the levers of power in her hands.
Today, telling such a malicious tale serves a clear purpose: to attack the State Security Service, its new leadership, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I remember that a few days ago, Gegelia also claimed he was attacked. Of course, someone somewhere is interested in these stories – but I believe that no one abroad will believe it, except maybe the naïve Sanchez Amor,” – said Volski.
For context: The leader of “Unity - United National Movement,” Tina Bokuchava, stated that her husband, Kote Ioseliani, was ambushed near the entrance of their apartment building by five masked men, who assaulted and abducted him. She made this statement during a press briefing in response to a video in which her husband apologizes to Uta Ivanishvili, son of Bidzina Ivanishvili, for a comment he made years ago.
According to Bokuchava, the kidnappers subjected her husband to eight hours of pressure and threatened their children’s safety. She also claimed that Ioseliani was likely held for many hours in the so-called “Moduli” building.
Bokuchava believes the true reason behind the incident was to intimidate and silence her.
As a reminder, yesterday Kote Ioseliani released a video in which he apologized to Uta Ivanishvili for a previous statement made about him.
