Former member of the United National Movement, Kote Ioseliani, has been summoned for questioning by a magistrate judge.
He is scheduled to appear at Tbilisi City Court at 15:30.
For context, the leader of "Unity – United National Movement," Tina Bokuchava, stated that five masked individuals ambushed her husband, Kote Ioseliani, near the entrance of their residential building, assaulted him, and kidnapped him. Bokuchava made the statement during a briefing in response to a video recorded by her husband in which he apologizes to Uta Ivanishvili.
According to her, the kidnappers subjected her husband to eight hours of pressure and threatened the safety of their children.
Bokuchava also noted that they suspect Kote Ioseliani was held for many hours, presumably in the so-called “Moduli” building.
She added that the real motive behind the incident was to intimidate and silence her.
It is also worth recalling that a few days ago, Kote Ioseliani released a video in which he apologized to Bidzina Ivanishvili’s son, Uta Ivanishvili, for a comment he had made about him several years ago.
