Irakli Kobakhidze to Orbán: Your leadership is exemplary for us – your support for our country and the Georgian people on the path to European integration is of utmost importance

Georgia and Hungary are united by shared values, and we believe this value-based unity strengthens the partnership and friendship between our countries and governments, stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit in Budapest.

The head of government expressed special gratitude to Hungary and personally to Viktor Orbán for their strong support for Georgia in all areas.

“It is a great honor for us to be with you today. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your warm hospitality and for organizing this summit. Your leadership is exemplary for us, the way you lead your country, care for the protection of Hungary’s and the Hungarian people’s national interests, and safeguard Hungary’s identity. From our perspective, we are united by shared values, and we believe this value-based unity strengthens the partnership and friendship between our countries and governments.

I would like to take this opportunity to express special gratitude for Hungary’s very strong support for Georgia. First and foremost, thank you for supporting our country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I also want to extend special thanks for your support on Georgia’s path to European integration. When Georgia achieved candidate status, your contribution was particularly significant, and today, as we continue our journey toward the European Union, your support is of utmost importance to our country and the Georgian people. Therefore, I would like to once again personally thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, and express gratitude to the entire government team and the Hungarian authorities, who defend our country’s interests on the international stage. The development of bilateral cooperation between Hungary and Georgia is very important to us. We have very close political cooperation and strong political relations, which are reflected, among other things, in our frequent meetings and intensive exchange of visits. It is in our interest to further deepen and develop this political cooperation. The summit format provides an excellent opportunity for this,” the Prime Minister stated.
