Paata Burchuladze: We must be able to hold a congress; we need to create a Third Republic. Just like there were mixed opinions about digital elections, now people are also questioning how this can be done — but it is necessary

"Everyone must understand one thing — with Bidzina Ivanishvili, there can be no retreat, not even for a minute," said Paata Burchuladze, a member of the "Rustaveli Avenue" movement, during Palitra News' program 360 Degrees.

According to Paata Burchuladze, Bidzina Ivanishvili is only afraid of people who fight.

"As soon as Bidzina Ivanishvili sees you stepping back, he’ll throw you in prison and do everything he can. He’s afraid of fighters — of fighting youth, of fighting politicians — and that’s why he puts them in prison. Today, he has nothing else left.

This is not a real election. The electoral system has gotten even worse; it’s impossible to win. Even if you’re given the position of a city mayor, you’ll be arrested for bribery within a month, and that’s how it ends. He’ll release 50 political prisoners as a gesture, and when it’s over, he’ll arrest 150. There can be no retreat, not even for a moment, from this person and this system. We must do our work — he can’t arrest all of us, it’s impossible," Burchuladze stated.

He also emphasized the need to hold a congress and establish a Third Republic, as "we practically no longer have a functioning state — we’ve stepped out of every constitutional framework."

"We must be able to hold a congress — we must be able to do everything. We need to create a Third Republic. Just like there were mixed reactions to digital elections, now they’re saying the same thing about this: ‘How can it be done?’ But it’s necessary. The First Republic was from 1918 to 1921, the Second from 1991 to 2025, and today we practically no longer have a state. We’re outside all legal boundaries. There are over 3,000 villages in Georgia — each must send at least one delegate, as well as delegates from the regions — and we must hold this congress. I’ll tell you the date when it’s decided," said Paata Burchuladze.
