Zurab Girchi Japaridze: What happens if the regime does the same thing it did on October 26 and writes numbers, whatever numbers it wants? - Until we do not have an agreed answer to this question, we cannot call the people to the elections

What happens if the regime does the same thing it did on October 26 and writes numbers, whatever numbers it wants? - Until we do not have an agreed answer to this question, we cannot call the people to the elections, because everything we say will be a lie and people know it, - Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, writes in a letter published on the social network, dated June 12.

Japaridze speaks about the October local government elections and states that refusing to participate in lies is a matter of principle for him.

In the letter, Japaridze emphasizes the importance of a united position and notes that the goal is not to win the debate, but to “defeat the regime.” In addition, Japaridze speaks about Lelo-Strong Georgia leader Mamuka Khazaradze and states that any attempt to insult him, indicating “as if there is a chance that Ivanishvili has made peace with him because he is demanding a discussion on this so-called election issue, is counterproductive.”

“My voice reaches the outside world from here with a delay of about a week, but I still want to state my position regarding the so-called elections that the regime is planning in October.

For me, to refuse to participate in lies is a matter of principle. Any lies. Because the regime stands on lies. The refusal of every citizen, and first of all, politicians, to participate in lies (and then the courage to shout the truth out loud) is not only important, but also the only correct strategy for victory.

But I have already said this many times (maybe I am not explaining it clearly), so I will write something else here.

The task is not to win the debate and appear cooler. The task is to defeat the regime.

Any attempt to insult Mamuka Khazaradze, whether directly or indirectly, by suggesting that there is a chance that Ivanishvili has made peace with him because he is demanding a discussion on the issue of these so-called elections, is counterproductive.

By the same logic, I can say that whoever does this has made a deal, because I think there is a unified position on this issue, a principled one. Let's give in to this madness, it's a shame.

The regime will not give up any capital or large cities. This is a fairy tale.

A million arguments can be written here, but the main question is - what happens if the regime does the same thing it did on October 26 and writes those numbers, whatever numbers it wants?

Until we do not have an agreed answer to this question, we cannot call people to the elections, because everything we say will be a lie and people know it.

Comparison with 2003 and/or 2012, when a change of government was possible due to the mobilization of a large number of people is irrelevant.

There were no Russians in power in either 2003 or 2012. Both governments were sensitive to democratic criticism coming from the West, and none of them were willing to do what this regime is already doing or will do to maintain power. So does it mean that we cannot agree on the real nature of this regime?”, he writes.

“So what should we do?

I won’t start teaching you from here. Whatever question I wrote in the second paragraph, that question needs to be answered. And we can only answer that question together. But first we need to sit down together and start talking about it.

Before that, if these so-called elections weren’t this October and if they were in October 2027, what would we do then? Would we stop? Would we die?

Let’s do whatever we would do then.”
