The opposition is absolutely disorganized - on the one hand, they don’t want to lose the 2-3 mandates they could get in the municipal councils, and on the other hand, they see that they are absolutely doomed to defeat, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to him, Georgian Dream has a higher rating today than it had in the 2024 parliamentary elections, and the ruling party will win the local government elections in all 64 municipalities.

“Everyone knows the ratings, we have a higher rating today than we had before the parliamentary elections. That is, if we got 54% in the parliamentary elections, today we can get more than that. In such a situation, of course, the opposition is absolutely doomed. We will win both the mayoral and city council elections in all 64 municipalities. In such a situation, they don’t know what to do. On the one hand, they don’t want to lose the 2-3 mandates that they could get in city councils, and on the other hand, they see that they are absolutely doomed to defeat. This is related to the internal struggles that we see in the opposition. What is good and most importantly, the opposition is absolutely disintegrated and broken,” Kobakhidze said.

When asked about the statement of Boris-Chele Kurua, a former member of the Girchi – More Freedom party, the head of government noted that this is another admission.

"It is good that we often hear confessions, and this is another admission that the opposition was, in fact, involved in an attempt to organize a revolution. This was nothing more than what we saw after the parliamentary elections. This was, of course, an attempt to organize a revolution in the country, which failed. The sad thing is that they had some external support in this attempt, but despite this, their attempt turned out to be unsuccessful, which is necessary for the country to continue developing.

We are focused on how to develop our country, our capital, and at this time, the opposition is completely focused on sabotage. This is their attitude and this is the main reason why people do not trust them," the Prime Minister said.
