In his interview with Batumelebi, Pawel Herczynski spoke about how family members would view someone sanctioned by the EU – this shows how distorted a perception the ambassador has regarding family. God bless the khachapuri that, according to him, was given to him for free, but Georgia is a bit more than khachapuri and khinkali, and everyone needs to understand this, said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili to journalists, responding to the statement by "People’s Power" regarding the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.

According to Papuashvili, the recent statements by the EU Ambassador, Pawel Herczynski, are alarming.

"In general, the EU Ambassador’s statements in recent times have been alarming. I emphasize once again that, despite repeated calls, he has not once distanced himself from the hate campaign, violence, and propaganda coming from the people he funds. This, accordingly, means he encourages hate, violence, and propaganda. Therefore, this is, of course, alarming. In this interview, there were passages that are outright disgusting. In this lengthy interview, we heard one passage related to possible EU sanctions. He spoke about how family members would view someone sanctioned by the EU. I have rarely heard a more repulsive statement. This precisely shows the crisis of values that unfortunately exists in Brussels. It shows how distorted a perception Mr. Ambassador has regarding family. Does he imagine that a child will turn against a father, a father against a child, and so on? Is this what Mr. Herczynski envisions? By the way, a few decades ago, we were taught this through the example of Pavlik Morozov. In reality, what Herczynski was talking about – that even family members might look disdainfully at someone sanctioned by the EU – is exactly an attempt to impose Pavlik Morozov’s morality in our society. This shows how far removed his comments are from a European understanding in general.

This shows that he has been in Georgia for several years and still does not know Georgia. God bless the khachapuri that, according to him, was given to him for free, but Georgia is a bit more than khachapuri and khinkali. Everyone needs to understand this.

In reality, he let slip that sanctions are not some legal instrument; they are supposedly a tool for stigmatization, to label people. Then, even in the eyes of their family members, there should be stigmatization. We have seen such stigmatizations before," Papuashvili stated.

For context, "People’s Power" responded to an interview given by the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, to the newspaper Batumelebi and issued a statement.

According to the party’s assessment, the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, is a representative of the "deep state," or the global war party, whose main task is to create problems for the sovereign government of a sovereign country and to facilitate the return of "deep state" agents, i.e., the global war party, to power.

In the statement by "People’s Power," Pawel Herczynski is described as "part of the foreign-controlled and funded opposition operating in Georgia, who knows nothing of diplomacy and, through his actions and statements, has exceeded the competence and authority of an ambassador since the day of his appointment."
