“Not only are we not backing down, we intend to fight until we liberate Georgia from Ivanishvili,” – said Giorgi Vashadze, leader of “Strategy Aghmashenebeli,” commenting on the verdict against Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” who was sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment and banned from holding public office for 2 years by Judge Zviad Sharadze.

According to Vashadze, the arrest of political opponents by the government only highlights its weakness.

“We are very strong, united. What ‘Georgian Dream’ is doing now shows just how weak it is. Imagine—if they were strong, would they be imprisoning political opponents or young people? They’re weak, and that’s why they do it. I was expecting the arrest, of course, because the only path they have left is to demonstrate force. They have nothing else left. They are not recognized inside the country or abroad. But one thing they should know—our struggle will be even stronger, even more united. Not only are we not backing down, we are planning to fight until we free Georgia from Ivanishvili, from this regime that ultimately threatens not just the future of me, Mamuka, or Zura, but the future of Georgia, of our children. They don’t want us to become a member of the European Union. They want the Georgian people to be punished. I believe the Georgian people will raise their voice and show these people their place. There is only one plan—to fight to the end to achieve victory,” said Vashadze.
