“To hell with anyone who gets scared of Bidzina!” – said Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, during a meeting with party members at the party office, after a judge sentenced him to 8 months in prison for failing to appear before the Parliament’s temporary investigative commission.

According to him, all party leaders are in prison now, but no one should think that anyone will betray the fight.

“This disgraceful spectacle has ended, but the fight is not over. That’s what’s important. No one should think that with my arrest—and they’ll probably sentence Badri Japaridze the same way—someone will abandon this fight. That is out of the question! Wherever we are, whether in a cell or outside, this fight will continue. I call on everyone—fully mobilize! We can take back Tbilisi, if we all stand up! Every leader of every party is in prison today. But we still have hope that the protest movement that exists in Tbilisi and in several other major cities will unite, and we’ll get rid of them. The dismantling, the de-occupation must start from Tbilisi! That’s what I believed, and I still believe it. I will prove this to our friends in prison—that this is the only right path: to Zura [Japaridze], to Nika [Melia], and to Nika [Gvaramia]. Sitting at home now, lowering your hands and ears, is a crime. That’s exactly what Bidzina Ivanishvili wants! We must not let him have that! We must take back Tbilisi, dismantle the Russian regime, and we will do it! And to hell with anyone who gets scared of Bidzina!” – stated Mamuka Khazaradze.

For context, Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, was found guilty by the court for failing to comply with the request of the Parliament's temporary investigative commission.

According to Judge Zviad Sharadze's ruling, he was sentenced to 8 months in prison and was also banned from holding public office for 2 years.
