My imprisonment and that of a few people is nothing. The whole of Georgia is imprisoned by Georgian Dream, we are fighting for the liberation of Georgia, - the leader of the Strategy Builder, Giorgi Vashadze told journalists at the party office.
As Giorgi Vashadze noted, the regime has time in its hands, and the opposition has unity in its hands.
“Everything depends on a political decision, it is a matter of time, the decision will be made today, tomorrow or the day after. The regime has this time in its hands, while unity, struggle, resistance, steadfastness are in our hands, in order to achieve the final victory. I am 100% sure that we will achieve the final victory. The main thing is to be united, the imprisonment of me and those people is nothing. The whole of Georgia is imprisoned by Georgian Dream, we are fighting for the liberation of Georgia. We will fight until the end, let's see if there will be a decision today," Vashadze noted.
As Vashadze noted, there will be concrete steps from our partners as well.
"You will see that there will be very concrete steps from our partners as well, many things will change. I have a request to everyone - unity. The rest is a matter of time to get rid of Ivanishvili and the regime," Vashadze noted.
When asked whether the imprisonment of opposition members will accelerate the imposition of sanctions against the ruling team, Vashadze noted that the ongoing processes will accelerate the imposition of sanctions.
"Sanctions are one of the mechanisms in the hands of our partners, not the only one. The main thing we are doing is to ensure that people, Georgia, receive as little damage as possible. Individual steps should be taken against specific individuals. If you ask me whether this will accelerate it or not, yes, it will, but our struggle on the ground is of decisive importance," Vashadze noted.
For information, Giorgi Vashadze was summoned by the temporary investigative commission established in the Georgian Parliament on April 15, however, Vashadze did not appear at the session, after which he was summoned to the prosecutor’s office to give testimony.
Giorgi Vashadze was charged under Article 349 of the Criminal Code, which refers to "failure to comply with the request of the temporary investigative commission of the Parliament of Georgia." This is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for a term of up to one year, or deprivation of the right to hold a position or engage in an activity for a term of up to three years.
