Georgian Dream is in a paranoid state, and this is a classic indicator of the end of such a regime - these are moments of fluctuations and we must endure, although enduring is not easy, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, told journalists at the office of Strategy Builder.
According to her, their “mental state, what they are doing, shows that this regime itself is not well internally”.
She also answered the question whether she herself would rule out the possibility that the temporary investigative commission would be interested in summoning her. In response, she noted, “Would you rule it out”?
"Would you rule it out? No one can rule it out. This state that they themselves are in today, which is a paranoid state, is classically an indicator of the final stage of such a regime. No one can say whether this final stage will end quickly or continue, drag on. Their mental state, what they are doing, such persistent repression, for nothing, shows that this regime itself is not well internally. This is also visible in the fact that some people are already being punished inside. We can imagine how this can be perceived by those people who have followed everything without question, doubt, or conscience until now. Now they realize that it turns out that I, too, can find myself in a situation like the one we saw yesterday. These are moments of volatility and we must endure. Endurance is not easy, especially for those people. Politicians may be even more resilient because they have to be prepared for everything. It is even more difficult for those young people to endure. Endurance is for those people who are protesting and continuing this street protest without the government being able to transform it into the format of an uprising, which is one of their goals.
I think the political spectrum is taking the current situation very seriously, as far as society is concerned, I think the majority of society really understands what our current situation is. A kind of fear has also settled in some parts of society. Therefore, perhaps the expression of these feelings is less visible and is not brought out into the open, I am sure that everyone sees what is happening.
I don’t know, I can’t give them recipes, but I see that these are already the first signs of their weakening. What else they can do and what we can think of, I can’t imagine and I wouldn’t recommend.
The platform failed to meet yesterday, we will meet today and set a strategy. I can say right now that I believe there are only two ways out: one, to continue the protest, in this peaceful form, there is no other form for me, and the second, the complete unity of the opposition on one strategy, on everything," said Salome Zurabishvili.
