The first phase of the Anaklia Port construction will be completed no later than 2029, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated during his annual report to Parliament.

According to the Prime Minister, work has already begun in Anaklia, including deepening and the installation of breakwaters.

“The first phase of this project will be completed no later than 2029, although considering the current pace, we believe it may be possible to finish the first phase much sooner. A total investment of 600 million dollars will be made during the first phase, and after its completion, the port will serve over 600,000 containers annually. This is a very important infrastructure project that must be implemented within the appropriate timeframe. It is significant for the entire country, and specifically for the Samegrelo region, that this project is completed on time,” the Prime Minister said.
