"We are ready to restore the strategic partnership with the United States of America, and moreover – we are ready to do this through a specific roadmap that will reflect benefits for both countries," said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his annual address to Parliament.
According to him, very important steps have been taken in terms of the embassies between the two countries — including the appointment of Georgia's ambassador to the U.S., which he considers a significant development — and he believes that these recent changes will ultimately contribute to resetting the relationship.
“As for our relations with the United States, which is a very important priority for us, as you know, we made a public statement on this matter. We are ready to restore the strategic partnership with the United States of America, and more than that — we are ready to do it through a specific roadmap that outlines benefits for both countries. We are waiting for reciprocal steps. Very important steps have been taken regarding the embassies — including the very important appointment of Georgia’s ambassador to the U.S. We believe that the recent changes will ultimately contribute to a reset in relations, and we hope that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the U.S. will be restored,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
