"Violent groups challenged state interests and sovereignty, and this was all carried out based on external interference," stated Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his address to Parliament with the 2024 report.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all law enforcement agencies that "successfully prevented this attack."
"During the reporting period, we went through a significant process related to a violent attack on state sovereignty and the country’s constitutional order, which took place at the end of November and the beginning of December. We all remember the very difficult five days when, according to a pre-planned scheme, specific violent groups challenged state interests and sovereignty, and this was all carried out based on external interference, which was completely clear and obvious. Of course, we could not allow anyone to undermine state sovereignty and the constitutional order, and here I want to express special gratitude to our law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and every police officer involved in preventing this violent attack. Thank you to them for this. Thanks also to the State Security Service and all law enforcement agencies that successfully ensured the prevention of this attack," the Prime Minister stated.
