Shalva Papuashvili: The moral and human anomaly established by the law of the National Movement, which used to froce the victim of defamation to justify himself, has come to an end

The amendments adopted by the Parliament have come into force. From today, the law will protect the victim of defamation, not the defamer, - the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, writes on social networks regarding the enactment of the Law on Freedom of Speech and Expression.

As he notes, the protest of specific “NGOs” clearly shows that this most anti-European norm, along with Saakashvili’s followers, was defended by NGOs funded from Europe.

The moral and human anomaly established by the law of the National Movement, which forced the victim of defamation to justify himself, has come to an end.

"The protest of specific NGOs clearly shows that for so many years, it was precisely NGOs funded by Europe that, along with Saakashvili's followers, were defending this most anti-European norm," Papuashvili writes.
