At the protest rally taking place on Rustaveli Avenue, Georgian and EU flags were unfurled.

Citizens began gathering at the rally, titled “Stand for Georgia,” from 8:00 p.m.

Speeches are planned at the rally, and according to the organizers, among those addressing the crowd will be Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili.

According to the organizers, “the government’s repressions already affect everyone, because leaders of opposition political parties, journalists, activists, actors, poets, teachers, and others are already in prison.”

They stated that today, silence means obedience, so Georgian citizens must make their voices heard by the government.
