Elene Khoshtaria decided to stomp her feet at her colleagues — fellow radicals like herself — and demand that they refuse to participate in the elections. However, the result was that she very quickly returned to a normal eating routine, – said Parliament Vice Speaker Nino Tsilosani in a conversation with journalists.
According to her, “Only radicals like Elene Khoshtaria followed her foot-stomping.”
“Elene Khoshtaria decided to stomp her feet at her colleagues — radicals like herself — and demand that they refuse to take part in the elections. But the outcome was that she very soon returned to her normal diet. What she also achieved was that the same parties, which we already knew to be radical and extremist, reaffirmed that they do not recognize the basic principles of democracy and declared again that they will not participate in any elections.
Nothing has changed — only radicals like her followed Elene Khoshtaria’s foot-stomping. And those who followed were already saying they wouldn’t take part in the local elections. Her decision to blackmail her fellow opposition colleagues achieved absolutely nothing. The fact is that Gakharia and Lelo still declare that they will participate in the elections — even though I’m convinced they are very afraid and at risk of getting even worse results than before,” Tsilosani stated.
For reference, the leader of the “Coalition for Change,” Elene Khoshtaria, along with Gedevan Popkhadze, ended their hunger strike. Prior to that, eight opposition parties released a joint statement announcing they would boycott the upcoming local self-government elections.
