The persecution of political opponents by the illegitimate government continues, and it appears that "Lelo - Strong Georgia" is a particular target, as three representatives of our coalition—Head of Communications Levan Jorbenadze, Deputy Secretary General Otar Parulava, and leader of the youth organization Beka Beridze—were detained simultaneously today, according to a statement released by "Lelo - Strong Georgia."
As noted in the statement by "Lelo - Strong Georgia," every time the authorities attempt to harass, politically persecute, or intimidate them, they will respond only by intensifying their struggle and going on the offensive.
"We, the political team of 'Lelo - Strong Georgia,' declare that no such actions will make us abandon the political struggle we have announced against the Russian regime!
The illegitimate government, which has reached a dead end, is completely isolated, and is now in an acute phase of internal clan conflicts, apparently believes that it can stop the resistance of the Georgian people through intimidation, violence, and persecution today.
When Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze were imprisoned, we said that nothing would intimidate us, nothing would make us abandon this struggle, and today we have the same message for Ivanishvili and his government, as well as for our fellow party members and every citizen of Georgia who continues to fight for a free country where no one can trample on our rights.
This struggle will not stop for a single minute, and every time the authorities, with frenzied force, try to harass, politically persecute, or intimidate us, we will respond only by intensifying our struggle and going on the offensive against the Russian government!
We will end the rampage of the Russian government in this country and the injustice that affects every citizen of Georgia!" the statement reads.
