Irakli Kobakhidze: This is yet another absolutely shameful resolution by the European Parliament — and it’s not just the European Parliament’s disgraceful act; the entire European bureaucracy must take responsibility for it

"It is utterly shameful to blackmail the Georgian people because they did not return the collective 'National Movement' to power," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a question regarding the resolution adopted by the European Parliament.

As the head of government noted, this is not only a shameful act by the European Parliament but one for which the entire European bureaucracy must take responsibility.

"This is yet another, if I’m not mistaken, the seventh utterly shameful resolution by the European Parliament. I believe the entire EU bureaucracy must take responsibility for this. This is not just a shameful act by the European Parliament; I think the entire European bureaucracy should bear responsibility. It is utterly shameful to blackmail the Georgian people because they did not return the collective 'National Movement' to power. Blackmailing the Georgian people for this is simply disgraceful. These people must feel accountable, including for giving a green light to the previous government during 2004-2012 for the gravest crimes they committed. Torture of people, racketeering, seizing television stations, handing over territories—all of this was given a green light for Saakashvili’s 'National Movement' regime by the very same bureaucrats and post-Soviet politicians who today speak in a shameful tone and adopt shameful resolutions," stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
