Irakli Kupradze: We declare an uncompromising struggle against the Russian regime and we have the hope of citizens - we are ready to support neutral, non-partisan candidates as mayors, majoritarian candidates - whoever you like, we invite you to join us

We declare an uncompromising struggle against the Russian regime and we have hope for the citizens of Georgia, - Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of the Lelo-Strong Georgia party, stated today at the joint briefing with Berdia Sichinava, Executive Secretary of the Gakharia for Georgia party, and responded to the agreement on cooperation between the aforementioned parties regarding the local elections.

As Kupradze noted, they respect the different positions of their colleagues regarding different strategies.

In addition, according to him, they are not afraid of the pressure and threats that may come from the Georgian Dream.

"Today, we and our country are in a difficult situation, where the so-called government, the illegitimate Georgian Dream, the Russian regime have impoverished the Georgian people; the Russian regime has betrayed the citizens of Georgia; the Russian regime has robbed, imprisoned, and dismissed thousands of people, professional diplomats, teachers, distinguished citizens, and civil servants from public institutions. In this situation, when the Georgian budget is being robbed, the Russian regime, as a syndicate, is conducting special operations against Georgian citizens every day. There must be someone, a politician, political parties, and civil groups who will fight Ivanishvili on all fronts. We respect the different positions of our colleagues regarding different strategies. We do not respond to any accusations and do not enter into a dispute, for a very simple and understandable reason - we must talk about unity even after October 4. Today, we have agreed on the initial principles of cooperation between the coalition Lelo-Strong Georgia and Gakharia for Georgia. This cooperation is precisely the important demand that our citizens have. This memorandum and document, which we have now officially signed before the citizens of Georgia, reflect your order that we are going to fight in all fields in a coordinated manner, without any competition and excluding competition. Among them, it will be important for us to talk about the main need of the citizens of Georgia, to fight, to enter into conflict with Ivanishvili, not to give him legitimacy and to weaken him, including at the level of the municipal councils, which we have done in the Georgian Parliament. We declare an uncompromising fight against the Russian regime and we have hope for the citizens of Georgia. Those who want to be in active opposition to the Russian regime, we invite you to join us in this format of coordination and cooperation. We are ready to support independent, neutral non-partisan candidates as mayors, majoritarians without any competition. We are ready to use our resources to fight against Ivanishvili’s Russian regime.

I am sure that this cooperation will be historic. I am sure that this document, which is certainly a compromise document, contains within itself the mandate of the Georgian people. We are not afraid of any type of pressure or threats that may come from the Georgian Dream. We know that Ivanishvili’s Russian regime will meet us with stones at the meeting with citizens, but we will meet them with our fists. In the normal process, we demand new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners. The political leaders of our party, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, continue to fight from prison. Our team is ready to withstand all types of resistance and make a major contribution to changing the Russian regime,” said Irakli Kupradze.

The Gakharia for Georgia party and Lelo-Strong Georgia party have agreed to cooperate on the local elections.

The memorandum on cooperation between the parties was signed today by Berdia Sichinava, Executive Secretary of Gakharia for Georgia, and Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Lelo-Strong Georgia.
