It is precisely the result of our common struggle, of standing on Rustaveli, of our unwavering determination that we heard from Kaja Kallas that Europe has addressed 8 specific demands to the Georgian Dream in order to continue relations - yesterday it became clear that the European Union and the Georgian Dream are incompatible, these two cannot go together, - one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Elene Khoshtaria, stated at the briefing.

According to her, under the conditions of the Georgian Dream, the country is losing not only its European perspective, but also the achievements that have been gained through decades of struggle and which are very important for all citizens of Georgia.

"This is a message that we are not alone in this struggle and that the foreign ministers of the leading countries in the world are making the same demands to the Georgian Dream. In addition, yesterday it became clear that the European Union and the Georgian Dream are incompatible - these two cannot go together. Under the conditions of the Georgian Dream, we are losing not only the European perspective, but also the achievement that has been gained through decades of struggle and which is very important for all citizens of Georgia. These are visa-free travel and those benefits that, regardless of political position, are very important for everyone. In order to protect this achievement, in order for Georgia to return to the European path, in order for justice to return to Georgia and in order for us to be a successful European state, we must fight the Georgian Dream, which is incompatible with this future. The only way to fight this is through resistance, non-cooperation, isolation and dismantling of the regime.

On Saturday, July 19, at 7:00 PM, we will gather at TSU for a rally that serves precisely the tasks of this great resistance,” Khoshtaria said.

As a reminder, after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU countries in Brussels, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, spoke about the letter sent to Georgia and stated that Georgia has a deadline until the end of August to fulfill the recommendations. According to her, these are recommendations that are given in the report of the visa liberalization suspension mechanism for Georgia. As for the EU’s response, if the recommendations are not fulfilled, according to Kallas, there will be consequences so that the society can see that “its government is not on the European path and does not take its candidate status seriously.”
