This post by the EU Embassy reveals the intention behind Brussels’s writing of a letter that was not provided for by the procedures, to which August was verbally added as the deadline, whereas communication between the relevant agencies already exists for the annual report on the implementation of visa conditions, which is to be adopted in four months from August, in December, - this is how Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili responds to the information released by the EU Delegation to Georgia about the mechanisms for suspending the visa-free regime.
According to Papuashvili, it seems that the EU Embassy intends to get involved in the election campaign this year as well and influence the formation of the will of voters on the issue of visas.
“This post by the EU Embassy reveals the intention behind Brussels’s writing of a letter that was not provided for by the procedures, to which August was verbally added as the deadline, whereas communication between the relevant agencies already exists for the annual report on the implementation of visa conditions, which is to be adopted in four months from August, in December.
It seems that, like last year, the EU Embassy intends to get involved in the election campaign this year, in violation of the Vienna Convention and Georgian legislation, and influence the formation of the will of voters with the issue of visas, which is foreign to the local elections.
We have been talking about this for a long time that interference of such a scale and the desire to change people’s choices at any cost is a deviation from European values. Each such statement is another confirmation of our truth.
It is also interesting in this post that the embassy did not put banners on "that Brussels demands the abolition of the 'family values' and 'transparency' laws," Shalva Papuashvili said.
