Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili responds to the Swedish Foreign Ministry’s statement, stating that it is insincere to condemn anything by them until they do not condemn the “call by Swedish government member Erik Ottosson to overthrow the Georgian government.”

Along with his response, Papuashvili posts a video on Facebook of a statement made by Ottosson in November 2024, in which he calls on Georgian citizens to protest against the Georgian Dream.

“Until the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not condemn the call by its government member Erik Ottosson on November 11, 2024, to overthrow the Georgian government, it is insincere and not serious for the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to condemn anything in Georgia,” Papuashvili writes.

For information, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the statement of the EU Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and stated that Sweden condemns the disinformation spread against the EU and the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

“We condemn the disinformation spread by Georgia against the EU and its Ambassador,” reads the ministry’s statement, published on the social platform X.
