Mamuka Mdinaradze on Tornike Rizhvadze: We have never been close friends, I couldn't personally call him because he doesn't have a phone, we communicate with family members, he is getting better and better

We have never been close friends, we were teammates - I couldn't personally call him because he doesn't have a phone, we communicate with family members and we hear his story on a daily basis, that he is getting better and better, - Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the Georgian Dream, told journalists about Tornike Rizhvadze, the former chairman of the Ajara government.

When asked whether he has communication with Rizhvadze, Mdinaradze says no.

“We have never been close friends, we were teammates. We were friends, but how can I talk about the quality of our friendship? [The friendship] has not ended. We remain friends. I have not been able to call him personally because he does not have a phone and does not communicate with the public. I know [from team members]. We communicate with his family members and we hear his story on a daily basis, that he is getting better and better,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze.

As for the investigation into the Tornike Rizhvadze case, Mdinaradze said that when the investigation is completed, the prosecutor’s office itself will most likely make a statement.

“We heard from the Minister of Internal Affairs that there were cameras and they were seized. All possible versions are being considered. There were a thousand manipulations: as if Geka Geladze was there, Mdinaradze was there, and all this nonsense and lies were said,” Mdinaradze said.
