“Ivanishvili is causing harm to Georgia. The question is whether only Ivanishvili and his group will pay the price for this harm, or whether the entire country of Georgia will. We want to ensure that only Ivanishvili pays the price for this,” said Paata Manjgaladze, one of the leaders of the “Strategy Aghmashenebeli” party, in response to the U.S. Department of State’s 2024 Human Rights Report on Georgia.

Manjgaladze noted that, “since the regime lacks legitimacy and does not represent the Georgian people, it has become a serious obstacle for Georgia.”

“Resetting relations with the United States is only possible when the country has a legitimate government elected by the people. Otherwise, there will be no reset with America. Additionally, he responded to a question regarding the “Law on Family Values and Protection of Minors.” According to Manjgaladze, “Guram Macharashvili’s law cannot protect any values.”

“If the ‘Georgian Dream’ remains in power, there will be no one left to marry in Georgia. We cannot protect any family values if, under your regime, no Georgians remain in Georgia. Values must be protected differently, through the preservation of traditions and culture. Guram Macharashvili’s law cannot protect any values. One million Georgians have fled the country. I do not recognize any law passed by an illegitimate government,” Manjgaladze stated.
