The press office of Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, has released a statement regarding the “Resistance Platform” and the “Opposition Eight.”

The statement notes that the “Resistance Platform” has not been dissolved, although the majority of the leaders of the participating parties are imprisoned by the “Russian regime.” As for the “Opposition Eight,” the statement says that Zurabishvili has never been either the initiator or a participant in its creation, although she is not and will not be against any attempt at opposition unity.

“The ‘Resistance Platform’ was created on the initiative of President Salome Zurabishvili and has not been dissolved, although the majority of the leaders of the parties involved are currently imprisoned by the Russian regime.

As for the ‘Opposition Eight,’ which was formed later, after the creation of the ‘Resistance Platform,’ President Zurabishvili has never been either the initiator or a participant in its creation. However, she is not and will not be against any attempt at opposition unification,” the statement reads.
