Irakli Kobakhidze: I fully share the sentiment of the President’s letter from start to finish. If the ‘deep state’ does not prevail, I believe nothing will stand in the way of resetting relations between Georgia and the United States

“I fully share the sentiment of the President’s letter from start to finish. Our message is clear to everyone: we want to reset the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States from a clean slate with a specific roadmap,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists.

According to him, if the “deep state” does not prevail, nothing will obstruct the resetting of relations between Georgia and the United States.

“For us, as well as for the public, the kind of passivity we are witnessing is surprising. Our great desire is for this passivity to shift to a different mode, an active mode, so we can begin discussions on renewing the strategic partnership. We remain hopeful that the strategic partnership will be reviewed. If the ‘deep state’ does not prevail, I believe nothing will stand in the way of resetting relations between Georgia and the United States,” the Prime Minister stated.
