PM: The government will award the basketball players 3 million GEL as a monetary bonus for their historic results at EuroBasket, and the team will receive 3 million GEL for each subsequent game won at EuroBasket

According to the statement of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the government will allocate 3 million GEL as a bonus for the success achieved by the Georgian basketball team at EuroBasket.

As he announced this at a government session, 3 million GEL will also be allocated for each subsequent game won.

“Since we have a historic result in basketball, I would like to celebrate this result with an appropriate monetary bonus from the government. We are going to allocate 3 million GEL for the already achieved success and for each subsequent game won at EuroBasket, at the European Championship,” Kobakhidze said.

For information, yesterday, in the round of 16 of EuroBasket, the Georgian basketball team defeated France in the match taking place in Riga. Thus, the Georgian team will play in the quarterfinals of EuroBasket for the first time in history.
